چکیده

Abstract The most important design index of water intakes is critical submergence depth the intake. at which air core formed by vortex about to enter emergence a and entry into intake increase head loss decrease discharge coefficient. reservoir geometric asymmetry, presence unevenness in bottom angle approach flow are among factors that influence formation depth. In this research, physical model has been used investigate effect geometry on This designed such way it can produce strongest type vortices with different strengths. results showed creating asymmetry approaching (with side blockage upstream), even 10% have great two times. To create uneven conditions bottom, blockages were created upstream up half height below caused an 10–25% depth, low high Froude numbers, respectively. However, more than intake, increases 60% addition, slope wall order (type) its stability instability was studied, found decreases toward vertical position. Also, increasing wall, form unstable manner. act as anti-vortex structure cause reduction
